92 Points: 2009 Decero Cabernet Sauvignon, Remolinos Vineyard
Steve Thurlow, Wine Align & National Post – 1 de mayo de 2012
Wine of the Day: This is a beautiful, very young cabernet that needs an hour in a decanter or at least 2 years in the cellar to show its best. Once opened up, it shows a harmonious nose of cassis and blackberry fruit with violets, black olive, tobacco and oak spicy complexity. It is rich and full-bodied yet elegant with the ripe fruit well balanced by soft acidity and fine tannin giving it a savoury tone. Very good to excellent length. Try with game or roast meats. Best 2014 to 2020.

91 Points: 2009 Decero Amano, Remolinos Vineyard
Stephen Tanzer’s International Wine Cellar – 15 de marzo de 2012
A blend of 60% malbec, 31% cabernet sauvignon, 6% petit verdot and 3% tannat: Bright, deep ruby. Cassis, minerals, mocha and milk chocolate on the nose, plus a whiff of exotic coconut. Suave and silky in the mouth, with lush, sweet flavors of cassis, menthol, fresh herbs and fruity dark chocolate. An impressively pliant blend, finishing broad and long, with nicely refined tannins coating the palate. Very well made, but I’d give it a year or two in the cellar before pulling the cork.

Stephen Tanzer’s International Wine Cellar – 15 de marzo de 2012
Medium ruby-red. Cassis, black pepper, bitter chocolate and a hint of violet on the nose, complemented by enticing oak tones. Suave, dense and fine-grained, with good peppery energy and violet lift to the black fruit flavors. A bit denser and darker than the 2009 cabernet sauvignon reviewed in Issue 154. Perhaps a bit youthfully monolithic in its texture but the wine’s ripe, dusty tannins and good finishing snap and lift suggest it will reward aging. Nuanced, complete petit verdot.

Bright red-ruby. Pure, perfumed aromas of blackberry, currant, pepper, violet and licorice are complicated by notes of coffee liqueur and tobacco. Saline soil tones add a dimension to the silky dark fruit flavors. Today the wine’s acids and tannins have not yet come into full harmony, but there’s already shows plenty of personality. I’d wait 6 to 12 months before pulling the cork.
12 viner du bara måste prova! 2009 Decero Amano, Remolinos Vineyard

2009 Decero Mini Ediciones Petit Verdot
92 Points: 2008 Decero Mini Ediciones Petit Verdot, Remolinos Vineyard
Robert Parker, The Wine Advocate – 6 de enero de 2012
‘2008 Decero Mini Ediciones Petit Verdot spent 16 months in 50% new French oak. Sexy aromas of sandalwood, exotic spices, incense, licorice, espresso, and assorted black fruits lead to a dense, rich, structured offering mandating 4-5 years of additional cellaring. This powerful offering will be at its best from 2016 to 2023+.’
91 Points: 2008 Decero Amano, Remolinos Vineyard
Robert Parker, The Wine Advocate – 6 de enero de 2012
‘2008 Decero Amano is a blend of 64% Malbec, 30% Cabernet Sauvignon, with the balance Petit Verdot and Tannat aged for 20 months in new French oak. The aromatics are reticent but with coaxing offer up notes of spice box, tobacco, and assorted black fruits. Savory, ripe, and plush on the palate, it displays a suave personality with good volume and length. Give it 2-3 years to fully blossom and drink it from 2013 to 2023.’
2009 Decero Malbec, Remolinos Vineyard
Robert Parker, The Wine Advocate – 6 de enero de 2012
‘2009 Decero Malbec (100%) was aged predominantly in 30% new French oak with 10% of the wine aged in tank. Notions of spice box, lavender, cedar, and black cherry set the stage for a forward, ripe, savory Malbec with good depth and length. Drink this excellent value over the next 5-6 years.’
2009 Decero Cabernet Sauvignon, Remolinos Vineyard
Robert Parker, The Wine Advocate – 6 de enero de 2012
‘2009 Decero Cabernet Sauvignon displays excellent varietal character. Aromas of cedar, blackcurrants, blackberry, and violets lead to a moderately structured wine that has 1-2 years of aging potential. This savory, layered, spicy Cabernet is a very good value meant for drinking over the next 6-7 years.’

Anthony Rose, Independent (Weekend) – 26 de noviembre de 2011
‘How things have changed. Malbec today is universally recognised as Argentina’s signature grape variety. The potential was always there, but its secret was locked into the high, semi-desert soils of the Andes. It took a handful of outsiders, treating it with respect in the vineyard and cellar, to reveal malbec’s potential for greatness…. At the Swiss-owned Finca Decero, the 2009 Decero Malbec is a joy, all vivid summer pudding fruit, a nip of tannin and vibrant freshness.’
